The Mirror and The light
God allows some of us to be exalted to high positions—such as movie stars, star athletes, various artists, and even presidents of the most powerful nation on Earth—precisely to use them as examples for all to see their perfections or imperfections. Some have even been blessed with longevity to attract others with less experience to believe them.
Some, however, have been blessed with longevity to shine a light upon others blessed with longevity who attempt to pass on sordid reflections of those who came before them. Some are mirrors; others are lights that shine upon the mirror to ensure that the reflections are clear.
Some are tethered to the sordid pasts of their ancestors until they are too blind to see the errors of their ways. They constantly reflect this image onto their offspring, not realizing that as the Earth turns on its axis and rotates around the sun, the cosmos evolves—hopefully toward a more perfect world in which all creatures live in harmony, if we can believe in the will of the Divine. If not, I can assure you that the Divine One has set systems in motion to keep us in check, regardless of how we perceive them.
I agree with the Evangelicals who have provided enormous support for our current president. They believe that it was God who exalted him to this prestigious position—to be the president of the greatest nation on Earth. This is quite common. All of us should respect our highest leader. It baffles me, however, when some seem to place him on a pedestal, equating him with the Almighty. This has never been done before and is quite disturbing to others. This provides those blessed with wisdom through longevity and observation—with an opportunity to shine a light upon this abrupt change from the norm.
Is the Divine One telling us something? Are we being provided with an opportunity to look at ourselves in a mirror? What am I to say other than that I have been blessed with longevity to travel around the sun eighty-one times, and I do not know why I am disturbed about how some Christians perceive God. Please correct me if I am observing things incorrectly. I can say that the reflections I am observing are unsettling, nonetheless. I am unsure if anyone will take advantage of what I am seeing as a glorious opportunity. I believe that God has provided our planet once again with an opportunity for us to look at ourselves in a mirror, for whatever reasons.
Some say that “God works in mysterious ways.” I am becoming more convinced of this statement.
